General Information

TMAF headquarters and Ephratah Processors like in Jinja is surrounded by a low -income community and a slum where people live below the poverty line unable to provide basic needs of life like shelter, food, clothing and medical care. The Kawera Estate Community  earn their living by engaging all sorts business like selling  fish, fruits, charcoal, tailoring and  small retail shops  for survival.

Poverty does not trap only the poor in urban areas but perhaps more severely peasants in rural areas of Bulike where TMAF operates. Life in these communities is characterized with poor sanitation and poor housing. Therefore, TMAF has established projects that aim at poverty reduction, prevention and control of communicable diseases such as HIV-aids and malaria targeting slums and rural communities. Accordingly, the TMAF roadmap for the future of such communities lies in support and establishing broad-based programs like health care, education support and income generating projects which have the scope to alleviate poverty, improve the health and living conditions of the communities and children.

Upon this background in 2013, with no donor support except Project CURE the biggest donor of Medical equipment and supplies TMAF has taken measures to concentrate energies on centers of excellence that can support the Organization activities. The Centers include:

(i)       The Agatha Foundation Vine Medi Care, Mukono- TMAF has endevoured to ensure that most of departments are functional though there is more need to strengthen its activies.

(ii)     The Agatha Foundation Gilgal Medi Care, Mbale. This is also a center that can be developed to self-sustenance. Located in Mbale, with Reverend Titus Kutosi as the Manager the center has significantly grown especially during the last quarter of 2012.

Further more, with support from Project CURE TMAF has established Ephratah Processors. The Unit has started to produce de-ionized water for car battery top up and de-ionized water for hospital. With availability of funds we intend to begin processing other products such as injection sterile water, IV fluids, disinfectants, liquid soap and shampoo among others.  Finally, TMAF has introduced the Education Support Program (ESP). The program provides support in for of school fees and tuition to children and students from poor disadvantaged and vulnerable families.

In addition to the above projects with availability of funds TMAF intends to initiate income generating projects that lift communities out of poverty.  Also TMAF has provided medical supplies and equipment which have been used to establish the Professor Wamukota Memorial Medical Center, Lwaboba, Mbale District. In addition measures are underway to make United Medi Care to also operate independently outside TMAF management.

Finally, due to the current TMAF challenges we decided to change our logo. The current logo with slogan “We Care” includes features implying that God Is our rock, river of life, light and strength giving the energy  represented by the flying eagle based on Isaiah 40: 31. According to the scripture trusting and having hope in God our rock, river of life and light our strength is only from God. We renew our strength and fly like the Eagle.
